The Beekeeper's Family Legacy
Founded by Michael Yulo, My Kaua’i Honey Company is a second-generation family business rooted in the tradition of beekeeping on the beautiful island of Kaua’i. Michael, who began his journey as a hobbyist nearly 50 years ago, developed a deep passion for beekeeping that inspired him to turn it into a sustainable business for his family. His mission was not just about producing honey; it was about passing down the kuleana to care for the ‘aina.
In 2018, catastrophe struck again when a devastating flood nearly wiped out all of Michael's equipment and his honey house in Kealia. Faced with uncertainty and financial challenges, he turned to the community that had embraced him. The response was overwhelming; friends, neighbors, and loyal customers banded together to support him, raising nearly $10,000 through a GoFundMe campaign. This outpouring of love and belief in his products fueled Michael's determination to rebuild.
Years later, Michael’s daughter and her husband joined him, inspired by his unwavering dedication and the legacy he had created. Their shared commitment to quality means that every product reflects the heart and soul of the company.
